Who we are

ChopCity operates this ordering platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we protect it.

Data we collect

• Account details: name, email, phone, password (stored only as a secure hash)
• Orders: items, amounts, delivery address and, if you pin it, your map location
• Payments: handled by Paystack or Hubtel — we never store card numbers or Mobile Money PINs
• Technical data: IP address, device/browser type and security logs used to prevent fraud and abuse
• Riders: identity, vehicle and contact details entered by the administrator

Why we use it

• To create your account and verify your email (one-time codes)
• To pass your order and delivery details to the vendor you ordered from and, where used, their rider
• To send order, account and security notifications
• To detect fraud, enforce our terms and keep the service secure

Sharing

• With the vendor you order from, and their delivery rider for that order
• With payment providers to process payments
• With authorities when required by law
• We do not sell your personal data.

Your choices and rights

You can view and update your profile at any time, ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account (we keep records we must keep by law, such as order and tax records).

Security

Passwords are hashed, payment keys are encrypted, connections use HTTPS, and access is limited by role.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Order records are kept for up to 6 years for accounting.
